As authentic Italian as you can get in Phoenix

We both ordered the halibut special, priced at $48 per entrée. For that price, we expected something memorable. Instead, the dish was completely bland — no seasoning, no depth of flavor, nothing that justified the cost. Neither of us finished our meals, which says a lot considering how expensive they were.
A cook came out and asked how everything was. We politely told him the halibut was bland. His response was, “Well, taste is personal,” before abruptly walking away. It felt dismissive and unprofessional, especially on a night when the restaurant knows guests are there for a special occasion.
Service overall was slow and inattentive. We eventually had to flag down another server just to close out our check because our assigned server was busy making pizzas instead of checking on tables.
Between the overpriced, flavorless food and the lackluster service, this was not the Valentine’s experience we hoped for. Sadly, it’s not a place we would return to.
I can honestly say this is the kind of food that takes you straight back to Italy — in fact, it’s so good that I ate better here than at my nonna’s house in Puglia (and that’s saying a lot!).

This place is a GEM. If you want true authentic Italian this is your place. It’s family owned - the kind of place you want to support. The food is incredible - everyone in the restaurant was enjoying their meal as we looked around. The owners are so attentive and want to interact with guests. The atmosphere is pleasant, calm, and comfortable.
We had the short rib pasta (special not on the menu) - it was incredible. Not too rich but full of flavor.
The mortadella pizza per Franchescos recommendation which was out of this world and the classic tiramisu which brought us right back to eating in Italy.
We can’t wait to return!

This place is decorated so cute. I love the bright lemon Italian colors.. Igor really took good care of us, we slid in and in and sat at the bar, we ordered a pizza. It was very good, tasty. We loved the flavor and the spice but we like our pizza crust to be crispy around bottom so we can actually pick it up, but that was so minor.. I just put it on my plate and cut it up.. I gotta say, I was pretty impressed at the pizza and the place is so bright, decorated well, the food was good. We met some regulars that go one to two times a week. Now, that’s pretty impressive. They’ve only been open for a little bit over eight months, but they already have regulars.
Take notes because in the future, they will have plenty of outdoor seating when it cools down a bit. There is a 3.5% credit card charge, but not if you pay cash.
